Rey Brown was one of my friends on the NGC forums. One of Rey's numismatic interests was railroad medals. A few years ago, I spotted this medal on the eBay site of one of my "French Connections". I mentioned it to Rey, and he was interested in it. So, I contacted the dealer and made him an offer since there were no bids on it and he accepted. When Rey passed last year, I mentioned to another of his friends on the forum that I wished that I could buy it as a remembrance of Rey. Well, earlier this year, I was informed that I would not be able to buy it, but it was being sent to me as a gift. It's really an interesting piece from 1836 France. Enjoy! Chris
