1999 cent with a cross, is this common?

Been searching rolls (boxes) for years and never found one of these.

Looks as if it was done with some sort of very accurate cutter, laser, etc.

Any thoughts or has anyone come across one?

I have one just like it and dont remimber where I got mine maybe in change. Up untill today i havent seen one other than mine but I'm guessing they are out there.

Well it's on my necklace/chain right beside a $5, $3, $2.50 and $1 indian...

 

These are called cutout coins downlow, and are common. I have a few myself with various figures cut into then (heart, cross, etc.) they're just novelty coins that people make and sell as oddities. I don't know if anybody really collects these, but they're kind of neat.

These are available in probably every Christian bookstore. My girlfriend liked to go into these stores. I'd see this exact coin and ask myself, "My God, why would anyone do that to a coin???????"

 

It's a keeper only if it has been washed in holy water then blessed by the pope.

 

I have one of those cents; it was saved for me by a cashier at a local gas station. I have also found many others.

P.S. At least that '99 cent of your's isn't a Wide AM!

 

Not the same but I ran across this cutout Walker a few weeks ago on eBay.
