Good evening everyone, I came across this one a few months back and just haven't had the time to ask about it. it is a 1983 Lincoln cent with a little bit of machine doubling throughout, but the bit the intrigues me the most is in the word STATES. The A and the second S have quite a bit of what looks to be die doubling, but after stareing at it for a few months I decided to put it out here to the experts. I have checked it against the varieties on Coppercoins.com and can't find a match, let me know what you think. THANKS! J
I figured as such but thought it was worth putting out here. Now at least I can not feel bad about kicking it to the curb
I'm still learning about all of the differences in doubling. So if I understand correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong, this is MD because in order for this to be DD the serifs would have to be doubled as well?
If they're split, that's the primary marker of DD... also, the doubling should be level, not shelflike, as this displays.
