I've read and seen many ways to store your coins, but I still have questions. For coins worth 20-40 dollars, what is the best holder? Currently I use 2x2 card board holders for coins valued at that price. Any coins over 100 dollars I get them certified into a slab. Does anyone have any suggestions or any concerns? I'm trying to find the best way to keep my coins looking great.
I say that airtites are the best way to go. They look nice, and protect the coin pretty well. Only slabs are better, in my opinion.
Even with a $20-$40 coin, you still run the risk of damaging one because of a staple. There are 2x2's that have an adhesive tab (no staples necessary) but I've often seen the adhesive dry out and fail. AirTites are the best alternative. Personally, having coins slabbed that are valued at $100 or more may be too low of a threshold. You could be losing anywhere from 20% to 40% of the value of the coin just for the grading fees. Chris
When you say airtite, do you mean these http://www.coinsupplystore.com/site/1648271/page/785957#Slabs or these http://www.coinsupplystore.com/site/1648271/page/755769
Air Tite Holders - This is the actual manufacturers web site, though you can buy them from many coins supply retailers. I agree with the others, Air Tites are the way to go.
Go with air-tites for any coins. I favor those because its super easy to store them and it protects coins from dust and other contaminants.
