Hallo, gentlemen. I have a big stuff of the Third Reich's coins that I want to share with you. First of all, I want to say that this thread I devote for a coins only. No policy, no war, no nazi:hail:, no history. It is only pretty coins:smile
Thanks for sharing SiberianMan. I think if anyone has the right to post Nazi coins, it would be someone from Russia, the country that arguably suffered the most from WWII and had the most troops fighting Naziism.
Awesome coins. I dont know a lot about what they used for their coins. These were bronze and zinc. Did they do silver or gold?
Yes it is. One of my great-grandfather was wounded by fascists and died in a hospital in 1943. My grandfather was the prisoner of war in fascist's concentration camps since 14th July 1941 until 2 May 1945. And my second great-grandfather straggled against the fascists since September 1941 until May 1945.
One can see the deterioration in their coins as things went bad, from silver to copper to zinc. I have a few zinc WW2 coins but none in as good shape as the above 1941-B 10 Pfennig. Uncorroded ones are hard to find.
Nice coins SMan! I believe I have all of these as well. I have many many German coins, including nazi. I also have early american good luck tokens with the swastika on it. For those who don't know, the swastika was used in early U.S. history as a sign of good luck and prosperity. Or something along those lines...
The thing is the Nazi symbols are actually pretty cool. I like the look of the iron eagle and all that. The thing is that the Nazis were what they were and these designs are now tainted by that. It sucks. That aside, bring them on. These are very cool. Great thread.
