I wouldn't, verdigris is fairly common.

there is no verdigris on this coin. I tinted the photo this way to better show what is wrong with the coin. is verdgris all you can see unusal here ? the photo of the reverse side is the color of the coin.

Really unusual Quarter. It has a perfect hole through it. This has to be an error. I don't know of anything outside of the mint that could do this...

Darn I had the impression that this was the error coin section, maybe I better go check and see which section I'm in? And for your info. I will post what I want to and you are welcome to do the same. I don't remember ever trying to bother you. I just asked a simple question and you sure as heck never even took the time to look at the photos or you do not know much at all about error coins.

I did look at the photos. It looks like a regular cent that is maybe a slight grease-filled die demanding little to no premium. given the corrosion and whatever else is going on there, it's basically worth... drumroll, one cent. Use some common sense and look at the coin and think about what could have happened to cause that before posting it, please.

You want me to post real circulation finds that are worth a thread?

It's worth approximately 35 thousand times what yours is. Enjoy.

What specifically were you referring to as unusual? it definitely looks odd, it's a little strange how one side is so much more worn than the other(not sure if that's what you were referring to or not). I don't think I would buy it though.

Then your coin may be worth 0.00 because you say my coin is about worthless so 35 thousand times 0 is 0 that make our coins not even worth face value.

I would ask the seller on ebay for better images before bidding.
Mike would ask the same thing and would also ask what you feel makes this an error coin.

    Boss, da rim! Da rim!

Rascal, since you like errors, have I got a deal for you! Here is a 1980 Lincoln cent with a "Y" clash between the 2nd & 3rd columns of the Memorial from the left. I have a little over 200 of them, and they all came from the same die. Now is your chance to corner the market on this error. I'll sell you all of them for $5 apiece. Sorry, I can't break up this rare find and sell them individually.

The coin that started this thread looks like it may have been struck through a very late-stage die cap.

I keep getting pulled into the Liberty of this coin.. I would gamble a few bucks on this coin based on what I see here. Looks like a late stage die cap and the trails coming off Liberty, if thats what I am seeing would be interesting to see in hand.

... I'm really new at this error business (and the recent threads are doing wonders at boggling my mind)... so perhaps someone could point out the error here? Thanks :)
