This event is going on next weekend (Apr 15-17). Is anyone planning on attending? I'm hoping to go, which will make it my first ever coin show! I thought about going to the show at the Old SF Mint in Feb, but this event seemed to have more dealers, so I held off. Anyone been before - is it a worthwhile show?

You'll get mixed results with a question like "Is it a worthwhile show?"

I plan on attending and know exactly what to expect so it's never a disappointment to me. It is a bit of a drive and with gasoline at an all time high, it'll be be tough but I'm still planning on going.

If you're a first timer, my advice is to simply start at one end of the room (which is quite large) and work your way to the other end.

There is an ATM available in the Convention Center but I think it has a $200 limit so if yer planning on buying, bring enough cash to meet your needs. Some of the dealers accept credit cards and checks, some don't.

You should be able to find whatever it is your looking for and then some.

I will try to attend. Its hard for me to make plans in advance. I have been a collector for over 50 years and have never been to a show.

    I will be there.

I've always enjoyed that show. Sometimes I've found nice coins, sometimes not. But it's always enjoyable.

If it's your first show here's some advice. Don't hesitate to talk to, and ask questions of, the dealers. Most dealers are happy to answer questions. And most will give you a good coin education beyond your questions if they see you are truly interested. And ask to to look at a lot of coins. The schooling you can receive at coin shows is invaluable.

Plus just looking at so many coins in hand is a great education. I get information from coin forums but I get experience from coin shows.

Ripley you must go. You will not regret it. :smile
