Another newie with the usual question 1968 s

Hello everyone...
I have been impressed with all the knowledgable insights here, and have lurked for days now to resolve this particular 1968 s. I'm now more confused than ever and after 4 days, I give up. Perhaps someone here can help me with this coin.

What is your question about it?? It looks painted to me, unless it's just the lighting in your photo. I do see what looks like Machine Doubling on the date though.

 

The color is very odd and as Evil said, I see the machine doubling on 1968 and the S.

 

Well I see unusual doubling also under the chin, the lighting however is causeing this color. the mint error is different than the date error, and under close examination, i can see doubling in both liberty and top inscripton in god we trust..they all appear different than the mashed looking date

 

Looks really ugly to me.

I see the doubling that you refer to but I'm the absolute worst at recognizing the types of doubling.
