I picked up a 1875-S Trade Dollar recently that has at least a half dozen marks on front and back. I did get it checked out by a couple dealers as genuine. I have not sent it in to get it certified, was considering sending it into Teletrade with some other raw silver coins to economize, though it would be a couple of months at least until it gets sold. I checked out their records on sales, and most of the chopmarked Trades sell for around $100. Any suggestions here?
I have one w/ about 25 chopmarks, graded by ANACS (I think) about a 25. Yes, worth about $100. Some chopmarks are highly collected, post a picture and someone knowledgeable about chop marks may comment. I'll try to get a pic of my slabbed one up.
Here is a link to a Teletrade search: http://www.teletrade.com/coins/search.asp?issubmit=1&nodefault=1&wantsid=0&searchid=0&pguide=1&searchpast=1&backto=720&s_ispaper=0&s_isnonusa=0&s_yearmin=&s_yearmax=&s_mint=Any&s_overdate=&s_grademin=1+%28AG%29&s_grademax=70+%28UNC%2FMS%29&s_ispcgs=1&s_isngc=1&s_isanacs=1&s_anacshold=All&s_isicg=1&s_isncs=1&s_proof=Either&s_keywords=chopmarked&s_d1993=1&search=Search Some of them sell for around $100 some more than $200 even in Anacs holders. Makes me think that Anacs would be a better bet so it doesn't get body-bagged. But the problem with Teletrade submissions is the wait between submission and getting paid.
