jcakcoin the funny part of this is he has a box of coin's his grandfather left him that he say's is so heavy he can not lift it! He told me I could look through it and pick what i want to buy if I would help him sell it all. He has no idea what he has. I am meeting him a week from today!

Hopefully you know they are not " Wheat Ears Cents " . Each coin must stand on it's own merits and without pictures it's unreasonable to say one way or another . What that seller may have considered VG , may in actuality be only AG . So it's unreasonable to weigh in as far as " Good or Not " . And there is added uncertainty as is suggested by the previous reply.

I graded the coin's as soon as I got them home. I use red book standards of grading!

stepthenwho, I agree with G_man here. If you have the resources buy the whole box. As for the price it wouldn't be bad idea to do a little homework first so YOU know what your buying. To answer your question. If those grades are accurate, your looking at a value in the 600-700 dollar range. You got a STEAL. CONGRATS. You should be celebrating. If you decide to sell them BE SURE you know what each one exactly is, because several of those dates have different varieties and could be worth more than what you think. Keep us posted.

I thought I would throw this out there you guy's will get a laugh at this! When I showed up at this guy's house to buy the large cent's, while looking at the coin I asked the guy where he got them ( I don't like buying stolen coin's). He say's his grandfather died and left him a large collection and he doesn't know what he has or what they are worth. He say's I took $100 worth of silver quarter's to the coin dealer and sold them! I asked him how many time's face do the dealer give you? He say's 4X face!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid me not thinking say's the dealer suckered you! That's when he asked me to help him sell the collection. I should have kept my mouth shut! Again I have not seen the collection! A week from today I know my mouth will be drooling looking through the box. I know you guy's say buy the hole box I have about $1000 put a side. I'll be going after the rare stuff first! I am so afraid that he will change his mind! Next Saturday can not come quick enough! I will keep you all posted!
