Hi all, just wondering if anyone has the complete set of World Coins catalogue on CD. If so how do you like it? The hard copies are a little spendy for my blood. You can get the entire set on CD for less than half the money Thanks! Mark
CD versions correct? Are the photos any better that in the books? That is one thing that bothers me about those books The black and white photos are pretty poor IMO. It looks like I can get the complete series for around $100. Thanks for the reply saltysam!
I have the Krause books 1600 - 2000. I only have 1900 - 2000 and 1600-1700 on CD. I guess I am old fashioned and perfer the books, kits just easier & faster for me that way.
I'm just trying to save some money, if I can get the complete set of CD's for less than half the price of the books I'll go for it. I'm just curious about how the info is presented and if other people like the CD's Thanks Ripley!
Since you can enlarge the photos and drawings electronically, I think you can see and clarify more of the detail.
I wish I could find screenshots some where. Being able to zoom is a real good feature especially since I'm going blind from roll searching. Thanks Salty!
Where can you buy the C D' s at? Also, do you know if you can get them for a "Kindle", book? And range of price for the lot.
Here are a few places I have found the set: http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Catalog-World-Coins-1701-1800/dp/1440208298 http://www.shopnumismaster.com/prod...1-present-5-cd-bundle-2nd-edition/world-coins http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/standard-catalog-of-world-coins-1601-date-5-cd-bundle.html Wizard is the cheapest I have found so far, there are lots of them out there. I may try to find it at the Baltimore show on Friday. Not sure if the are compatable with kindle.
I have the 1901-2000 & 2001-thru current that I bought a couple of years ago. I'm thinking of getting the closeout of the 2011 CD which is only 10 bucks. I wanted to ask if there was any reason why I would buy the 1901-2000 version if I bought it a couple of years ago. The only difference is that coin values were updated correct? If that's it I don't care about that since I'm not looking to sell my coins. I just wanted to see what others have done in the past. Thanks!!
You need to check the Edition number. If it is the same, it will be the identical resource you now own. If it is more current, there may be a few new coins added, which could have been overlooked, but they would probably be more obscure to miss detection to begin with. So I wouldn't see the need to spend more money for so little possible gain. You can always use a library copy, for that one exception, if need be.
I have always used the CD/PDF version of Krause, Much better then the books. The images are not HD but good enough to get you a good overview of the coins. The cheapest option is offcourse numismaster but I have yet to try that
i have got the cd version from 1601 to 2008 it is excellent and saves time and space with the books, but i still like the books as well...
