Hey Bob, I love busted halves, I have a few. I think I'm an oddball because I actually like the flying eagle cents out of all the cent series.

Well my indian head cents are complete, my two cents are complete, my silver trimes are complete 1851 - 1862, my nickel three cent lack one piece of being complete, I lack three pieces or completeing my seated half dimes. I have 254 of the 295 early date large cent varieties (I don't know how many middles date varieties I have.) And I have just just under 900 different Conder tokens from between 1788 and 1800. Yeah I love the older coins.

My favorite 19th century coins are these 2. Flying Eagle Cent & the 1892/93 Commemorative fifty cent piece. Nice idea's and good dies. The Santa Maria is probaly the most intricate die we made in the century. And the idea of the Flying Eagle was just grand.

You’re not alone by a long shot, I always keep my eyes open for nice 2 cent pieces, to mention one[/FONT]

I always liked the older coins much more than the modern issues Bob. I think my favorite is Half Cents. At one time I had a really nice collection of then, including a dozen or so unc. pieces, but had to sell them all a couple of years ago. Just recently I've decided to get back into them again, but in a smaller way.

I've recently really started liking older foreign coins, not ancient (although I would love to have a few!) I really like older British coins right now, not sure why though.

hey thanks for all the replies, nice to know im not alone,,another thing ive found is alot of my coins are good to maybe fine, but i love the field being dark almost black, with the features, the bust or letters being lite gray to silver, even with alot of wear,it makes everything pop out at you,,,

More than 90% of my collection is pre 1900. I'm especially into older copper right now.
