Questions on silver dates

    Clad can also = silver copper mix as with the clad Kennedys 65 - 70.

    No, the 65-70 Kennedys are not clad. they are referred to as silver, just 40%

    1965-1970 Kennedy Halves are clad. The outer layers are 80% silver and 20% copper and the core is 20.9% silver and 79.1% copper.

    Let me rephrase that. They are not generally referred to as just clad. If they arent called 40% then it is silver clad. At least IME.

    I have heard them referred to as "silver clad" many times, which in fact is the most accurate way to describe them.
