Lundy half puffin, 1929 UNC! I was doing the happy dance when I saw this in the case, I couldn't hand the dealer my cash fast enough! Now I need to find a full Puffin
Umm, Lundy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lundy More about the coins is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins_of_Lundy for example. So one may say they are in the "oddball" category or private issues. Still nice designs though. Christian
That little bit of an isle has to have more lighthouses on it per square mile than any other place on earth !!!! i would like to "Bend an elbow" at the Marisco pub.
LOL! Very Nice!, That is my next quest. I took me a couple of years to find that half, I'm hoping to find a full puffin a little faster!
I see 5 on eBay.uk now http://coins.shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from...m570.l1313&_nkw=lundy+one+puffin&_sacat=11116
I hope it's not a tufted puffin, It's too hard to say especially if you just staggered out of the pub. Bruce
How many obscure islands off the coast of Great Britain have their own coins? Isle of Man, Jersey, Lundy ...
i think that most serious UK collectors will have the two lundy coins. i have had mine for around 30 years.
The difference between Lundy and the others is that the person that released the Lundy coins and stamps declared himself ruler of the island and was later brought before the british courts as a result of it. These were never authorised by the british government. Richard
