No, those people have the OPINION that what I think isnt true. I have dealt with coins my entire life as well. Perhaps not to the extent you have, and I surely havent published any books or articles on any of these subjects. Lack of publishing aside, I DO know coins, and I DO know of what I speak. I have looked at a lot of coins in my life. And I know what MY eyes have seen. And what I have seen supports what I have said. And the coin Lafayette posted shows my point perfectly. A coin at MS 67 or 66 with FSB compared to that one would be worth more. As Lafayette said, the very first thing that screams out from that pic isnt the awesome toning, but those murky middle bands. And if you guys like the TPGs and graded coins, I would hate to see the commentary if you didnt like them.

All that aside, I never did answer the OP question. IMHO, YES, if you can get a coin with FSBs with all else being equal, take it every time. Take it if the FSB is a grade or two below the other as well.

Guy , on my search for a fully struck 1917 TYPE 1 SLQ , I literally looked at about 1000 coins in 4 years , it has full rivets in the shield it even has the nipple in the left breast , though a tad weak . LOL . From what I'm hearing you saying is you don't think any coin is fully struck . Which is probably true , but there are coins that are as fully struck as they come . If they don't have these designations they definitely are not fully struck . Plus I'm pretty sure the FB and FH designations started before tpgs were started .
