I have these 6 pennies and am having a hard time figuring out if they are large or small dates. I think the top right is large and the rest are small. Your thoughts?

I did a bunch of research and looked at some good sites that were recommended to other posters here, but I'm still having trouble.

I did do a search. The problem is I can't tell the difference between my coins. I've compared them all to both small and large and I just can't figure it out.

They all appear from the photos to be large date. The bottom left cent is at a reflective angle that is hard to tell, but that is my impression. The Lincolncentresource has large photos to compare. A main key is the direction of the tail of the nine.

Try looking at this thread - http://www.cointalk.com/t93080/. Try comparing the tail of the 7, the crook at the bend of the 7, and teh inside hook on the 9. These are not degrees of large or small. They are either one or the other.

    Thank you for your thoughts.

    To everyone else
    I did look at lincolncentresource.com and coppercoins.com
I want YOUR input on THESE coins. This is a tough year to figure out.

I've decided that they are all large dates, and have sorted them accordingly.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to be a bit harsh here... If you want input, don't give us crappy pictures.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get snappy. Clearly I struck a chord in some of you. If a mod could please lock or delete this thread or whatever you do, that would be great.

You should take pics of a single coin, crop the date, sharpen it up, check it out again yourself, then submit it. No harm in trying though if you can take the CONSTRUCTIVE critism.
1970-S small date cents are one of the very most difficult to diagnose. Even experts hit a hard one and submit it here. It is uncommon to find a 1970-S small date in good condion in circulation.

They all look like large dates to me.

At the OP request and since the thread seems to have reached a dead end, I will close it. Personally, after I clicked on the photo a few times, the image was large enough to tell, except for the one. Much better than many I have seen here. SWthirteen, it is hard to tell at first, but experience will help a lot!
