Check this out... Worst strike I have seen.

    This crossed my desk today. This has to be one of the worst struck mint state or near mint state seated dimes I gave seen.... sheesh!

    Maybe the mints seeing eye dog did it....

    Seeing as how the coin looks to have extensive finning it sure wasn't wasn't because of a lack of pressure. My guess is that coin is a struck through grease error.

    A little grease on the die....I like the lamintation /split on the reverse @ 5

    Limp sister strike. Whats with the die crack at the 4 o'clock position ? Looks like either a repair or electroysis.

    Is the crack on the edge of the coin also?

    Yep a die crack and small cud.

    I was going to suggest a strike made shortly after the dies had been inserted.
    The Mint didn't have the spacing and/or pressure correct.
    But I think the finning may shoot that theory down.
