I'm gonna say MS 65 RB because the strike is superb and the luster is there and with no large spots or hits in focal areas. Its a great coin, but I can see them 4ing it and a 6 is always too much to hope for and I think they will see that it is a nice coin and put it in a 5 holder and be safe. Cross the fingers for a six!
(almost) One hundred year old coin in that condition is amazing. Where has it been hiding. Previously graded (in a holder)?
I get the question a lot about why I send coins to NGC versus PCGS. My numismatic mentor is the father of an NGC finalizer and the uncle of an NGC grader, both of which used to work for him. Knowing what I learned and knowing that this is the same thing they learned makes me feel more comfortable sending my coins to that company. I don't get any special treatment of course but since I feel that I have the same knowledge base coming from the same teacher that I have a better chance that the coin will grade what I think it should by sending it to NGC versus PCGS. If later I feel like the coin needs to be in a PCGS holder... I can always send it in for crossover service.
Is the color in the pics accurate? The hue looks "off" to my eye for a Lincoln. Assuming the color is fine, I think a grade of 64 or 65 is likely, with a leaning towards the latter (in RB).
As accurate as I could get them... There is a halo of very pastel bulls-eye toning around the obverse edge... I tried and tried to get a pic of it... but I was unable to.
