Die fragment left on nickel?

i have a 2001-p jefferson nickel. at about 6 oclock there is a shiny piece of metal that isnt like the rest of the coin, it is raised up above the rest of the coin, and the rim is fine where the shiny metal is. what are your thoughts?

that was my second theory, any idea of a value if it is a cud? i figured only a dollar or so

 

You're probably pretty close. The nickel is pretty beat up.

 

a friend gave it to me, i was asking if i could look to see if they had any silver and hes like no but take this, not bad for free lol
