I've been debating on whether to buy this and wanted a few opinions. http://cgi.ebay.com/Old-Mixed-Coin-...=280645730052&ps=63&clkid=8044169562424711727 Thanks:smile
no to expensive and it's a gimick plus it's only 1/4 of a pound so there's not much there...save yourself the heartache.
I agree. I've purchased these lots before. The sellers will use the highest retail values they can find to show you that you got more than what you paid for. This is why I despise most retail price guides, Red Book included.
I'll do them one better and sell you 1/2 pound of crap for $40+. That's DOUBLE what they're offering... Seriously, though, would you be mad if you received 40 pennies? If I recall, that would be four ounces...
I see no reason why you should despise the retail price guides. It still remains that there are more than enough bidiots to go around for sellers like this one. These "buyers" should try to educate themselves, first. Like Forrest Gump's mom always said, "Stupid is as stupid does!" Chris
There's 2600 sold, so there's a lot of folks buying it. I think it's the idea of "maybe, just maybe, I'll find a valuable coin..." With these lots, there's always some people that do find coins worth more than they paid. Most, of course, do not. If you like to gamble, gamble on it. If not, buy something less mysterious.
Sure it is, lol. The listing doesn't say what you might get, so you can bet on getting a lot of cents and maybe a couple small silver coins thrown in for good measure.
