Would someone tell me what this is... I thought cud, it's on the rim, but im not sure, as you can see it's a little different on each coin, so might even be two different things.. and also while I have you here.. is this called a die crack or the L or something else? Thanks

how's come no one has said anything about this.. I really want to know what it is.. I seen it on a lot of quarters.. I ask was it cud, must not be, then what is it? something different with the rim, it's thicker, in places. Is it just something thats on them sometimes or what?

It looks to me like a small bit of metal that squeezed up around the collar during striking. Kind of like finning but not as extreme. Of course you know me and errors :rolling:

As for the L - looks like a die chip or small die gouge.

Indeed you did - and not bad pics ;) Try adjusting the white balance and use GE Reveal lightbulbs. Turn all other lights in the room off. You'll like the results !!

Not really sure but just looks like the normal lack of quality control at the Mint. Seen stuff like that on nickels, dimes, etc. No big thing. Your not going to get more money for that stuff on the coin.
