I hope he is doing OK after that ordeal. He is lucky - one can get zinc poisoning from swallowing a zinc cent (especially a child).

Do you plan to save the coins for him to remember this episode by?

He is doing fine...this just happened the Tuesday nite...we got discharged from the hospital yesterday at 4pm... he recovered faster then the doctors thought... he was up playing at the hospital after the medicine wore off. no sore throat or anything that he complained of...

unfortunately all the nurses, and the surgen, and the surgens assistant all fought over keeping the coins... so we didnt get a chance to take them home.. the only thing we got to keep was the xray pics....

Its amazing how fast things like this can happen. Its very scary to think how bad this could have been.

  5. Welcome to CT! Glad to hear that your son is ok after that ordeal. If he ends up being a coin collector, he will have a great story to tell on how he entered the hobby. TC

Kids, your eyes have to be watching them every waking moment. When I was a little tyke , I swallowed two marbles. It's good you were on top of this and they didn't cause an obstruction.

Welcome to CT craziidad. Glad to see he is ok and doing fine. Keep those Xrays so when he is a teenager and knows it all you can remind him why you watch him like a hawk!! Kids are an adventure.

My son poored super glue on his tongue around that age,,,, came out of his room with a line of drool that reached the floor........
Was daddy's turn to watch him too :( Momma very upset as she spend an hour with him picking the dried glue off his tongue by the sink. Thank god he didn't swallow any,,, just wanted to see what it tasted like I guess,,,,, amazing how quickly that stuff dries,,, even on wet surfaces.
Lesson learned,,,, consider yourself fortunate with that cent (zinc poisioning), and that he didn't choke....... The lord does watch out for us more often than we think.
