    Hello Group
My first time posting in this group. Sad to say I don"t have a picture of coin I am about to describe. I saw this coin at a flee market and did not buy it because I just don't know enough yet to purchase some coins. The mint mark was perfect until you got to the last digit. Here is where the error is no digit in place and has a streak like it was soldered. A streak the size of a one at an angle with a small indent beside it at the rim. The guy is going to be there again this weekend and if anyone thinks this sounds like a good error coin I may go back and get it. He is asking $20.00 dollars for it.
    Thanks Big Ed

You mean it's missing a digit in the date? If anything looks like solder then it is most definately not a true error.

I am thinking that's why I didn"t jump all over it. Because on the field right by this solder looking stuff It looks nice no blemish are anything. Looked at real good with 10X mag.
    Thanks For your response

ed, what you have described sounds like damage, not an error. But we cannot say for certain without a good photo.

BTW, You are talking about the date, not the mintmark. The mintmark is a letter, e.g., 'P', 'D', 'S', etc., that denotes where the coin was minted.

That was just what I was looking for, a good error coin book. I was just telling one of my friends the other day I needed to get a good updated error book.
    Thanks Ed
