OK, no Pennys, Centavos, Centesimi, Centimos, etc. Only one cent coins. Here is a large cent from Hong Kong dated 1877. Too bad it is not a US cent dated 1877.

    Nice blue cent

    Hello Moneyer.

Keeling Islands has issued colorful coins dated from early to mid 20th Centrury. Some are made of plastic like the blue plastic 1-cent you have posted. They have also issued other denominations like Rupees and 2 cent pieces in red plastic etc. Very cool coins. Is this blue cent in your collection?

The USA also experimented in plastic cents. Many of the USA samples existing today are found in two pieces. It was an attractive nuisance & several folks would see how they would bend & the coin would snap in to two pieces.

It would be cool if someone could post a USA plastic cent or maybe a nice S1 chain cent. :)

moneyer12 i just love UK coins.......

coins of the cocos keeling islands were also minted in ivory, as well as regular metals with the later sets, i made it a mission to find as many coins/tokens from the islands as possible and i have some nice examples of the early coinage as well as the later metallic sets. there are also some small notes printed on card which are dated 1903 and they always raise a premium price when offered for sale.

Well Collect the US did issue some plastic coins during the Great Depression era. Here are a couple of mine. They are gastly things, with no redeaming features.
