Does anyone recognise what I have here. This thing looks like it is some kind of copy of something because it looks to have been made in a mold. I tested it and it is at least 90% silver and about the size of a silver dollar. I have two more silver medals that have this same look and they say Danbury mint on them.

rzage What Goes Around Comes Around .

Danbury mint must have some kind of archives , I'd check them . Still it's a crude medal . Maybe someone was trying to copy the medal to learn how it's done .

The lewis and Clark medal does not say Danbury mint but the other two I own does.

Looks like it may have been buried at one point (the surface is a bit porous). There were a LOT of L&C medals produced for the 1904 Louisiane Purchase Expo. You might want to go digging through medals that were produced around then.

I put this thing on Ebay along with some other ones I had. someone can melt them down and turn them into something nice.
