Hi guys,I didn't want to post this till I knew it was in the mail and got my Registered Mail tracking number.

I bought a coin lot of an old fella,he's in his ealy 90's.He has a bunch of old coins I picked up,nothing really rare but he said he had this 1943 penny thats copper,a magnet won't pick it up,he got it in the 50's. What I need to know,if you guys know,is if they made replicas of this coin without "copy or replica"on it,the replica would have to be made 50+ years ago as he had this one that long.I posted his pictures he sent and they are very poor,I will post excellant pictures when it comes, but if they did make replicas back then I won't get to excited about it,any help would be great.

P.S:does anybody know what the gold colored one with the cross on it is ?

Thanks,I can't reply today but I'll check tomorrow, thanks for reading.

Have you tested it with a magnet yourself??? Cause even from those pictures I can tell it's plated.

There were a lot of the coins altered even many years ago. It is easy to make a 1948 cent look like a 43 cent. The best way to check for this one is to look at the distance between the 4 and what might look like a 3 .

Looks like a Portugese coin or token there also.
