Nice! Very cool Sept Severus coin Randy, great portrait of the Emperor. That is a fine looking dog too, and a great name!! Looks cold there though..... just illustrates the many different microclimates we have here in our great State. Yay Arizona!
Cats and pineapples Darn cold lookin Randy, when did you take those shots? We has a nice warm day today and yesterday, and I am looking forward to taking my new handgun out to the desert, up in the foothills to a small range to see how she shoots. It's a Smith and Wesson model 669 9mm, beautiful pistol. Ripley: pretty kitty you have, reminds me of our only outdoor cat, we call him B.C. short for Black Cat heh, very creative I know. He is a desert hunter, and a stealthy guy who knows our 7 acres well, but he loves to relax indoors, where he feels safe and knows there isnt a hungry coyote around the corner. He already has one big nick in his ear from a fight with something, probably another cat. Our cats also like to sleep under the Mexican blankets we put on all our chairs specifically to keep them off the chair itself, i guess it must be the most comfortable part.... plus its like a fort! He is a great hunter, and leaves us the headless bodies of gophers and packrats, which we appreciate....and I have seen him eating one he just caught before.... he seems to enjoy biting and crunching on the head the most.... kinda like the on National Geographic you see the bears that squeeze the salmon fish to eat all the eggs, then leave the meat of the fish to go find another salmon with eggs to repeat the process, I have found up to three headless packrats in one morning alone.... all lying together, kinda lined up right in front of the side door.. In the photo of him outside, he is laying in the safety of our flower beds, actually right above the Desert Tortoise den, which is a long burrow they dug which runs beneath the flower planters and the patio. Oh and in the photo of him showing his teeth.... he was just yawning when I caught that shot, so it is a mid-yawn shot, he was not hissing or being aggressive at all... he had just woken up. Oh and... Nice piña too.
Awwww what a cute lil baby, you there Rex. Here are 2 of my babies, I call thier perch "The Ghetto":smile
Winter before last, around Jan 2010? i think. when we got almost 6 ft of snow in a weak Its a little chili today but its been warm here.
well i dont have any connections to this thread, but i figured i would share my pets This is my kitty minnie, she is just over a year old, we got her from the pound, and she made herself right at home inside my chest of drawers This is Bill, the african grey parrot, he loves to talk and we raised him ever since he was 6 months old This is sadie, eating her birthday cake. Shes 8 years old and loves going for rides in the car, and barking at nothing sorry for being long but i figured i would share
WOW! that's nuts man. Beautiful animals all, cool grey parrot, and cute kitty Mark14 I have a cat named 'minnie' too, we got her and her brother from my uncle, minnie and mighty. Ripley, my cats would be envious of that awesome perch if they could see it, I am even envious heh. We have something similar my uncle made.... he has alot of cats and used to make these great wood scratching posts/perches of varying sizes, ours is about 5 foot tall, and has two main platforms, the infoor cats like to watch the birds from the top. But it is nothing like the masterpiece your cats get to relax upon..... very nice, nice view too! Randy your first two pics in that last post are wonderful!!!!! especially the outdoors one of them in the grass, Soo cute! and yes it seems this thread has gone terribly far off topic. I just love that Augustus bronze up there, the radiate bust and the eagle reverse..... magnificent! I am hoping to find a similar one of the same type one of these days.... I haven't any coins of the Empire from before Nero, and have always wanted one of Augustus, my given name is actually Austin, which comes from Augustus, and I love that radiate portrait of him on your example.
No problem going off topic, pets are better than coins BTW, its snowing now..... The piture of the 2 pups in the grass was about 14 years ago, the one on the left you can see next to our newested member Pete(apollo) the one on the right (grey and black) past away back in September unfortunatly. The cat is a stray that moved in, and I dont think has any teeth. I was pretty lucky to get those 2 coins, and dont know when/if I'll be able to match them.
