    For those of us who are not experts on US coinage, it would be very helpful to show the whole coin as well as the closeup, and to indicate just what is unusual about it.

    My WAG from your mention of multiple coins "starting small and ending like this" is that you have a developing die crack.

    Sorry. The coin is the 2004 minnesota statehood quarter. The error in question runs out the lower portion of the state, and straight through the head of the loon (bird). Just thought it was pretty cool when i seen it.
    Value I'm sure is not impacted by this line is it? I'v had these since they came out, waiting to see if others found them. Submit?? dont think so but if I do I will call them spearhead loony's lol. Anacs would get a kick I'm sure, but pcgs would not even look I dont believe. All in all just a fun piece with mapping of the die crack from it's beginning. Just figured after 2 years someone would have found the end lol Thanks for looking. David

    If it is a raised line then it is a result of a scratch in the die that struck the coins.

    They are all indents. dont know how but all 28 are the same indented. Thanks
