I have a 2006 gold American Buffalo proof coin. I noticed a small red spot under the Indian's eye, about the size of his pupil (if he had one of course). This will not wipe off and looks like ink. The coin was sealed from the mint and never touched, so I have to think that it came from the mint this way. Any idea what it is and how I might clean it without hurting the coin?
