I keep all pre 60's... don't really know why, just seems like they should be coming out of circulation after 50+ years of being out there.

This past week I've been picking up a few rolls here and there hoping to find a pre-war or Buff. I went through my cherrypickers guide and put all of the entries for Jefferson nickels into a 1 page spreadsheet. I am getting my first box tomorrow.

Also, I came across this possible RPM: http://www.cointalk.com/t163032/

Picked up a couple of boxes today:
    Box 1: 4 40%ers, 2 1964, and 1 1954 Frankie. :D
    Box 2: Will open later.

Also stopped at a different bank and asked for halves. She said she had $7 but they are "really old." I love it when they say that. I found 2 40%ers and 2 1964s in that little lot. :)

In the middle of searching right now, went to over 15 banks in the area... one place the teller said 'oh a lady just came in with 90 dollars worth' - yes please. Another said they had 140 in rolls but that was it, a customer overheard and said 'I have a cup full of them at the house if you want them' - yes please. He came back with 118 dollars worth - gone through 5 rolls or so and only found a single 1968 Kennedy so far. The hunt continues! : )

Stopped at a fresh bank on my way back from getting 2 boxes of cents today... talked to a teller, he's gonna hold onto all the halves the branch has for me and I'll drop in next week and pick 'em up. Asked me if I was looking for silver, I said "I think a few of what I need might be silver, but I'm not sure what years those are," and he went into how he wishes he could buy the silver out of his tray... told me he will hold whatever he gets for me. :D

I got my $1000. of half dollar's and I did't find silver just a few AU. I did find something i had never scene before and i am hopeing someone can tell me if it's a error or there is alot of them out there. I found about 15 kennedy with no reeded edge. Is this a mint error or not? Going to cash the half's in tomorrow and order another two boxes.

That's not an error, just happens due to wear, they were probably used heavily in slot machines.

Hit 4 banks this afternoon looking for halves. Two CWR (one marked "Bicentennial") plus $11.50 loose at the first; 1 CWR plus $6.50 at the third. At all four, some variation of "we've had lots of people asking for them", "somebody came by earlier in the week and cleaned us out", and the like. Skunks, one and all. I gave up early.

Looks like the word is out up here in western Maryland. Hope I'm not missing too much by not hitting my favorite hometown bank today...

Done with Chase bank. The last 2 boxes were searched rerolled and sealed (same as the 8 last week). 1 40% I think placed so I keep ordering and the teller gets to search through. The same teller went and whispered and laughed again to the teller who gave them to me.

stopped at a very small town bank today, since my bad luck with halves earlier this year I dont ask for them any more. Since I was in such a small town off the beatten path I thought what the heck. Went in and asked the teller for halves and she said sorry we dont have any..................................................last fall a guy came in looking for them and took all we had,,,,,,and then said " Im not sure why he wanted them they were all really old and had been in our vault for years!"

Can you scan them ? Sometimes I can get a decent pic by using a cheap plastic container, like the ones potato salad comes in. I cut a hole in the bottom of that for the camera lens. Set the container upside down over the coins and take a pic setting the camera on the container with a timer delay. Then move the pic to my computer to crop and finish.

Visited a local bank to pick up some coins that my favorite teller set aside for me... I recieved 3 dimes 64'd 57'd and a 63'd also got 3 quarters... 64'd 59'd and a 08's Oaklahoma state quarter ...

While I was there picked up some 10 rolls of cents and 10 of nickles... Not much to speak of other than 2 wheat pennies

Had an interesting day with the bank today. I went back to see if they had any more rolls of halves. They had 4. But they told me they can't sell them to me anymore after today because I don't have an account. But I do, it's just a CD. They said no, it has to be a transaction account "in case anything goes wrong, we can access the money from your account." What could possibly go wrong? Perhaps they thought I was laundering $20 bills? Anyway, I called the manager and he explained it much better. He said, when they exchange money they need to have a record of the transaction. There is nothing in the computer that allows them to make a record of the transaction with a CD account. Ok, that made sense. So I guess I'll open an account if I intend to keep doing this.

Anyway, I got several rolls of different coins. I didn't find much. I got a blueish toned Washington state quarter which was cool. A bunch of decent nickels but I'm not sure which dates I should keep. However, at the gas station today I asked if she had any weird coins. She said no but then as she was giving me change said "oh, here's something weird. Not sure what it is but it's in my pennies. It's yours." It was a Netherlands 5 Euro cents. I also got a decent circulated Hawaii quarter. Oh, and a $1 star note.

    Good day or not?
