Ok, here we go with round #5 i chose this note Series 521 $10 for a couple Of reasons the first being the high quality vibrant color it just stands out! Making this note a bit deceptive on grade at least i think so, Secondly i Think this will be a great challenge for are top grader,s and a valuable Learning experiance for are newer ones! As always the following rules apply to win you must tell me correctly And exactly the 1. Grade 2. PPQ 3. Apparent Grade if any (along with the details) Ive been getting some general grades please be exact in your answer And then PM them to me Good Luck this contest will end 3/18/11
I have to say this by far had to be the most challenging note to date that i have listed for review Both on grade and possible Apparent problems, in this week we had several ct members nail the Grade at F-15 but werent able to guess any Apparent problems although we did have a couple Come close they werent able to name all three! so we dont have a winner this week so the current Standings to date or: Krispy...................3 Wins Steve-In-Tampa.....1 Win Texas John............1 Win Stumped ..............1 Win ( This will be for the times that no correct guess was given) Here our the results from this round: Ikandigit....................................F-15 NO PPQ NO APPARENT GRADE YO YO Spin................................F-15 NO PPQ NO APPARENT GRADE USS656.....................................F-15 NO PPQ APPARENT (Tear) Duke Kavenaugh.........................F-15 NO PPQ NO APPARENT GRADE Coinmaster................................F-12 NO PPQ NO APPARENT GRADE Dr. Kegg...................................VF-20 NO PPQ APPARENT GRADE( Internal Tear) Krispy......................................VF-25 NO PPQ APPARENT GRADE (Trimming) RickieB.....................................VF-25 NO PPQ NO APPARENT GRADE Thanks everybody for playing! I will try and post round 6 as soon as i can !
Whoa! Design redrawn. didn't catch that. Do you have a close up scan of that area for more detail? Thanks for another challenging round.
Thanks for another grading exercise Rusty. Just goes to show you cannot trust grading by pictures no matter what your experience level is. The way I see there are two issues with this note not three. I mentioned the tear in my guess and still wonder if pcgs would have given a 20 in not for the second issue. The redraw is the reason for the apparent grade imo so they could be considered one in the same. By all means correct me if I am wrong. Look forward to the next note.
Hey Chris, i think what they are talking about here is the area just to the right of the chin You can see it pretty clearly but you wouldnt think it would garner a apparent grade in The details, i will try and see if i can come up with a pic detailing that area
I updated your guess, my mail box was full and i tried to write down everything before it was deleted Sorry about that Darryl! and your right with out the tear it would have been upgraded to atleast to VF-20 but it still would have received the apparent grade due to the design being redrawn on The face.
