Ok guys. These pictures are the raw pics from my camera. I have not edited them in the least. This is how the coin looks in hand. What do you think the TPG will grade it? I will be sending it in. Anyone feelin froggy and want to identify the variety?

Well, based on the overall luster of the piece, plus the dark spots at 6 o'clock on the reverse, I will say 62+1.

Those dark spots are that pretty gunmetal blue toning... very hard to get in a pic.

Really? Well then I bet it is nicer in person. :) That is probably a coin that, if I were you, would have Todd photograph. My new grade: 64. If the toning looked the same in person as in the photos, I bet that it would lower the grade a lot.

My grade, 58. TPG grade, 63.

I'm going to say AU58 as well . The obverse is the downside.

I have a bad feeling. PCGS altered surfaces or improper cleaning is my guess. I hope I'm wrong, but the coin appears to me to be overdipped.

Of course it could be the photos, I'm anything but a bust half guy, and I personally dislike bright silver from the 1820s.

If it slabs, I'm guessing 58.

Funny Leadfoot you suggest altered surfaces. Perhaps tooling on the digit " 2 " as well . First glance , it looks like a 63 , but I would seriously question that grade. Who know's , LD has far better eyes than I , and he has had much success with some of his submissions.

I agree. If nothing else it seems to have a touch of wear on the reverse and that puts it in the AU range.

He has indeed. He also has the coin in-hand, a HUGE advantage.

Here's looking forward to a 63 grade and us both being wrong. :)

I'd be willing to bet it would go 64-65 at NGC and 63-64 at PCGS. I've seen some with less detail grade better, so you never know.

Nice coin with slight wear on the hair by the Y of liberty and her breast . Looks like it was dipped so I'll go with AU-58 . That's by ANA standards , tpg 62-63 market graded .

AU 58, O-110 R2 from what I can make out in the pictures. It may come back in the low 60's from a TPG, but I think you would do better at the AU grade money wise.

I think it earns an honest 58. The thing that bothers me about this coin is its white appearance. A silver coin that old simply should not be that bright white. You can be sure its been dipped, and although this seems to be market acceptable, it could BB if the tpg deems it over dipped. I cant really tell from pics how the luster is, but that light brown "haze" could be from improper rinsing post dip. Ask yourself this question. Do i like this coin? If you answered yes and plan on keeping it i would say don't even bother submitting. It is after all a very handsome coin.

It has awesome detail and is a sweet coin. I say AU only because it looks to have been cleaned before.

58 because of rub on the obverse

My guess is AU-58. Looks like a touch of wear on the high points.
