I have found a very weird lincoln cent and I thought that maybe some of the experts could tell me what it is. This coin is completely swedged? No evidence of damage on the rims except a couple of dings. Please let me know what this is?!?! Tom
There was a posts in dec about spooning a coin and making a ring. There was also a artical in Coin World about it in the summer.
Hi, We've had threads pn this before. The likely cause is a commercial clothes drier. The coins get stuck inside the fins of the dryer drums and are tumbled until the staff at the laundry gets them out of the machines. I have a handful like this that were given to me by a laundromat attendant so I know that this is definitely the cause. Have Fun, Bill
