Mark, sorry, but at least a $1 apiece if they have a date. Dateless, yes fine, .50 -.75 is a good price, my opinion only!
If he is willing to sell to you at .50 or .75 by all means jump on them! They are going to rise in value with time. You being a teenager, WOW!! what a GREAT investment! :)

alright, i told him that i would tell him the price that i would be willing to buy them for would be about 75c to a dollar, so now i know that if its visible a dollar, if not 75c, because he is a good friend. he has about 150 of them, so i am going to look through them eventually, maybe he has an entire set he didnt even know about, hes a coin novice too

Good for You! Remember to look on the reverse of any 1937 D that you may come across, check for THREE legs! It is one of the Holy Grails of the Buff Collection! You can probably pick up a Buffalo Nickel Album on eBay for $10 if your patient! Congrats on your "herd!" :)
Happy Collecting! I beleive you should take off "Stupid" on your avatar! :)

P.S. What position do you play? I was a running back through College (NAIA) in the late '70s.

Funny how I was just thinking about Buff nickels and then here is a thread for them. My question is this: For Christmas I was gifted a 1938D Buffalo Nickle. As far as I know that is fairly common mintage. Now, on the back of the little card board coin holder thing, it says VF $1.50. It isn't graded by PCGS or NGC, or ANYONE for that matter. Just the coin shop's owner or something. I think that my father in law got it when he was a kid. Does that price of $1.5 still hold true, or has it appreciated?

I have no desire to sell the coin, just some knowledge about what it is worth.
