A coin dealer showed me a brand new 2006 Monticello Nickel. It came from one of the rolls in a box containing 50 rolls of uncirculated first strikes just released from the mint, in very limited quantities. When looked at under magnifacation, there are three cracks in the roof of the Monticello, and also above and to the left of the Monticello appears to be a shadow of a woman, supposedly "Jefferson's wife's ghost." Was wondering if anyone else had seen or heard anything of the same?
not opening my rolls to find out..but look what happened when I tried to take photos of them..scary! and yeah...that really is a pic of Mrs. Jeff
2006-p mint I looked at two rolls of 2006- p mint nickels today I got from paul sims. monticello looks great . Not very happy with the way jefferson looks, I did like the 2005 obverse much better. Not many bag marks, coins look very clean. Must coins have a little overlay on obverse at 3-oclock but not bad for mint coins.
I have the 2 roll mint set, but I'm not cracking open the box because it will be at a premium later on to be in the original packaging, especially because it's an early date. I have not found any of them in circulation yet, I will probably start seeing them within the next 3-4 weeks. Maybe I will get lucky and find end to end bankrolled ones like I did with the Ocean Views.
