I have this 1942/1 Mercury dime that is XF45 cleaned in an Anacs holder. It has good eye appeal and it is hard for me ( and most dealers at coin shows) to tell that it was cleaned. I am thinking of putting it on ebay for sale. I know that cleaned coins are undesirable and loose much of their value.. but what are some estimates on what this coin is worth?

My expectations would be 75 % of no cleaning, but a check on Heritage archive should give an idea also. Nice looking, although I would have to see close up of the 2/1 and cleaning and grading before saying better.

Thanks for the Heritage archive tip. Looks like identical coins sold there between $450 and $650.

That seems a fair price range for a variety collector, who wants a classic.

I think that's a good starting price swagge1. I like the coin even though you can see that it was cleaned. Good luck!

Thanks Bruce. I put it on ebay just now for $450 starting price. This is my first time as a seller. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Auction ended with no bids 56 views and 3 watchers. I read ebays relisting policy and am kind of confused. It sounds like if I relist and it sells the relist was free. If I relist and it doesnt sell again then I get charged another insertion fee. Does this make sense?
