I know I have been out for a while but there were many of you here excited about the small Size District's Theme. What happened..I had to search back 9 pages for the last entry...it is no longer in fashion here? So many of you were really thrilled to start these collections. Well I am from the old school and even when I was out I still did my searching for notes that I needed to fill many holes. So I suppose what I am saying is lets get the horse running again....well at least I intend to post on it as I am always looking to add to the Series 1934 C Series Notes.. So it is with a little pride that I display my District Set of $5 Series 1934C Banknotes.... I hope you enjoy it. It has taken many years to assemble especially the stars. So here we go..first the District Set and then the New York Set including Stars..I have not been able to find the Mules..but still looking. The District Set: The New York District Denomination Set: New Back's Old Back's These sets are going in for Pedigree during the Baltimore or Long Beach Show..... well thats my hope anyway.
mpcusa Thanks, as you are well aware of it is alot of work and searching. I appreciate you stopping by to take a look. They pale in comparissiion to the Large Size but it still excites me. Are all/any the other group members still participating?
Awesome display of notes RickieB. I especially like the solid stars. I'm a little confused about distict currency collectors. The original thread shows different collectors choosing different districts, and this thread shows a complete set for a series in all districts (A-L). I collect primarly 1963 thru current $1 Star notes from every district, and only lack one note to complete the set. Do these notes qualify for the original thread ? I would think not.
Hey Steve: Sorry for the confusion here.. the District Set is something that I took on a while back to augment the NY District 1934C Denomination Set. While it was not as difficult to assemble as the Denomination Set it was still a challenge. Some folks may not want to lock into a district thus I posted the 34C District Set so that one can visualize what a set would consist of for all 12 Fed Banks. Hope this clears that up somewhat?
It affirms my belief that District Currency Collectors primarly collect different denominations and series of the same district. I collect all of the different federal districts, and do not fall into this catagory....which just goes to show you that one mans ceiling is another mans floor. What an awesome hobby, there's literally something for everybody.
This is outside my zone of collecting, but what a great series! I don't think I've ever seen a complete set of all districts for ANY note. Now I understand that the numbers in the four corners correspond to the bank districts -- something you don't get from viewing an individual note. Thanks for the education!
You were the heart and soul of the currency section, Ricky. Krispy and others tried their best to compensate while you were out, but it was a daunting task. Hopefully things will get back to normal.
Coleguy: Thank you for the message. I am very grateful to Krispy, Bob (Connor1) and anyone else who assisted Krispy with everything that was put on him at once. If I am not mistaken, Duke K started this group and runs it still. I really enjoy our currency and the history surrounding it. I hope to become involved once again as I continue to progress in my health issues. I missed being here but while out I tried to keep up with some things. I have only purchased a few notes (Small Size) since that time due to out of pocket expenses that insurance did not cover. I am on the rebound and hope to see the groups reform in the near future.
WOW!! I'm seeing STARS! Great collection you have there Rickie B and nice to have you back in the forums.
Thank you for the return welcome and comments on the 34C collection Dr.Kegg, I appreciate that very much. There are many 34Cs in other denominations as welkl that I have not even scanned. This and the 34D Series are pretty tough to locate. Perhaps when I get more organized I will post the entire 34C-D Notes.
That is a very nice looking Silver Cert. Do you have the regular issue to make it a pair? Thanks for sharing it with me.
