I went into the local coin store yesterday to find a 1960 mint set. The quarter and also the half was toned, and he only wants $20 for the set. So, here's the big question, would you buy it if you could?
A 1960 mint set has a P and D set of coins (10 coins total) and would be a steal at $20. If it is a half set (P or D only, 5 coins) or a proof set (5 coins), it is still a good buy at $20. TC
Probably. I am getting $24.99 + shipping for a Silver 64 D circulated half/quarter/dime on eBay. I would buy it from the dealer to sell the silver and put the cent and nickel into my folders.
While I don't like burning of books, you really need to toss that one in the fireplace. IMHO Although these prices run a bit high Numismedia.com can give you a close idea of what each coin individually is valued at. Look them up and do the math. But as others have said the silver is valued at about $22. gary
An uncirculated mint set from 1960 for $20? I would buy those at that price all day long. Average price for those around me is $36.
