hi, I should be giving away some coins at the CICF to fellow coin talkers there are four coins all handpicked by me from my recent overeas trip. the first four people who meet me there will get those coins one per person only 2 conditions you cant get more than one coin and its first come first served. Let me know if anyone is planning to attend
If you love being taxed to death, paying $4 a gal for gas, not being sure your political votes REALLY count, then move on in! Otherwise, visiting is highly recommended. Also, when you do, stay outside the city limits and take a train in. WAAAAY expensive! Have you heard about the parking?!?! $5 an hour! It looks like it is at the Rosemont. Pretty sure this is not "in" the city limits. It is in Crook County though.
Anyone else going to be there this year? I posted a few weeks ago a thread about this and got exactly zero responses.
As I said in the thread earlier today, I will be there. I manage to make it almost every year except when the EAC convention is close by. For some reason the two shows are usually held the same weekend.
I will be there! My first coin event really! I went to an auction a few weekends ago and that just set me off. I've only been collecting via cash register at work and just recently buying rolls to search. So the Fair is going to be so cool!!
5%??? For real? I live about 25 minutes outside of Chicago in Indiana and our tax is 7%. There is no way it is 5 in Chicago haha. I'm pretty sure it's around 10 or more. Edit: Just looked Chicago is 9.75% as of July 2010. Recently lowered from 10.25%. So yeah visiting as opposed to living there is strongly recommended.
Loves2travel, The CICF is a good show and can be very enjoyable, but I just want to make sure you are aware that there will be very few US coins available at this show. It is about half world coin dealers and half dealers in ancients.
