Any thoughts on the grade of this one? nice looking 1909 vdb. Just wondering the grade of it. I always tend to overgrade things that are mine so... definetely not a coin for selling but a nice one to put in the folder

Charlie32 posted the grade....and I think he is right on.
It could either get XF or AU.....it is borderline.

just a reply to the last post

I can see how you could think that it was cleaned but in hand you can tell it is defenitely not cleaned.

Color is NOT right for a coin with that wear. "Spotty" colored areas of light bronze/copper gave it away. Definitely NOT original mint luster or color. Look at the areas between the rim and wheat stalks. Also look at the color of the word "ONE CENT" as well as the other rasied letters. The letters are all lighter which is another reason why I think it has been cleaned and/or dipped in the past.

Sorry...colors are way too funky for a coin like that with wear.

I don't think it was cleaned

The light was funky in the last picture and that might have been the reason, but I still want to see if you think it was cleaned. You may well be very right and if you are the dealer must have been wrong or trying to cheat me. He is probably the most respected coin dealer in Milwaukee and I have never seen any bad/overpriced coins in his shop.
