I just got back from a coin show in Burlington where I picked up this nice obsolete from Hoboken, NJ. The dealer had another note from Rhode Island and one from Ohio that interested me, but I stuck to my "game plan" of concentrating on New Jersey and Philadelphia issues....but I was soooo tempted. Sometimes it's hard to stay focused, but I did....at least this time. :D

Very cool--you don't see many obsoletes from the 1820s. And in pretty good shape for a note that's 185 years old!

Thanks for your comments everyone. I don't have a huge budget to spend, so I need to discipline myself by deciding to limit my interests. Right now I'm only looking for NJ or Philadelphia obsoletes, and an occasional Confederate note. If I win the lottery though, all bets are off.
