I have updated the DVN "News & Announcements" web page with the first to report a recently discovered doubled die statue that is inverted 180 degrees on a Lincoln cent reverse. If you get a chance stop by and we will have more information and detailed photos to include die markers for attributing in the upcoming April 2011 DVN #23 issue along with recently reported new "extra column" varieties and much, much more.

Good luck in your collecting and searching endeavors.

    Regards,
    Billy

That's really amazing, Billy! I might also add that the (upright) statue looks like it is badly deformed and looks more like The Hulk in transformation rather than Lincoln. Is this deformation the result of the 180 degree doubling?

    Though speculation, that is possibly.

I see you posted a link to this in another forum. Thanks for the link.

I also read the comment that, "... for people to find some of those errors has got to have nothing to do." To that comment I say to each his/her own. One should have fun and collect what one wants to collect or search for. Besides, that's why it's called a hobby.

Hmmm, I seriously question this claim, JMO...

Looks legit, but it blows my mind that someone in Philly was dumb enough to rotate the die 180 degrees while hubbing.

I agree with you 100%, but I will admit that it took me 4-1/2 years to search one $50 bag of Lincoln cents. LOL!

You may think what you like, but Billy Crawford continues to be one of the leading experts in Lincoln cent die varieties.

I too question this claim. How could this possibly happen on a "Single Squeeze" hubbing? Please explain.

Yes, this is controversial...how is someone supposed to believe that something like this didn't occur intentionally?
