Very cool popout coins Todd.

Acutally picked up a couple of more MPLs today at the local coin shop. These two are even better than the three I posted the other day. I really love these things, too bad they cost so much!!!

You must have some pretty deep pockets to buy those high grades! Just beautiful MPL's. I love that 1914, nice toning.

Been searching for this one for a long time. Finally pulled the trigger last week.

Now all I need is the 1916 SLQ to complete the series. I might have to wait awhile on that one.

Got four today. These are the two with pics.

I've heard people bash the Wisconsin but I like the design. Reminds me of baking soda.
And badgers are just cool.

Cornelius Vermeule, writing in 1971, was no admirer of the coin:1

• "Like the Old Spanish Trail, the coin of 1936 that marks the hundredth anniversary of Wisconsin's formation as a territory smacks of amateurism. The models were the work of an art student at the University of Wisconsin... This half dollar of the United States is, as a work of art, little more than a high school medal of the dullest variety. As a visual experience, it ranks with some of the worst local-society or small-occasion medals which have a timelessness if only in the mediocre level of their art."
The other two are a Arkansas MS66 and a Vancouver MS66.
I guess the kids will have to settle for community college. ;)

Claygump - nice commems - they're addictive
900fine - that Nero is AWESOME!!!
RaceBannon - I love SLQs too and that one is sweet.
Picked up a couple Peace - 2 common date MS-64s and a raw 1921 - amazing that all 21s were made in just 4 days. The shield just caught my eye.

I really like the look of the Peace Dollar. Have they ever used that same design on other coins?

The peace was designed by an artist who won a contest for the new dollar design. It has not been used elsewhere - I also think it's one of the most beautiful coins the U.S. has ever had.
