error 5 kop 11803

    hi
    please could you explain to me how this can happens?:rollling:
    take a time, look on picture ,obverse and revers 5 kop for comparing ,
    do not forget coin was struck in 1803.

    Well Irina, I guess they had too many snorts of Vodka at the ole Ekathrineburg mint on that day. Looks like they put a minted coin, backwards on the reverse die, instead of a blank planchet. Than stamped out the coin again.... Pretty neat error coin. :hail: IMG_0157.jpg IMG_0158.jpg

    Ripley, like I said, take a time, and think.
    What you said, does not work, reverse die could not be backwards.
    Die clash????

    Irina, at the time at the Ekatrineburg mint. The coins were stamped in medal configuration, so it is correct.

    Hammer job? Or is that a Photoshop showing where to find clash marks?

    Ripley, medal configuration has nothing to do with backwards sign 5 kopeek.
    I probably agree with CashDude, this error could not be exist,
    Photoshop?:confused:

    I am assuming the first two pictures are the coin in question, and the third one is a photo shopped image to show what he is seeing on the coin. If that is the case then what he is seeing is a clashed die.
