Here is a coin I am going to list at some point on ebay. I was just wondering if the error was a common one for this coin or a rarity. It is a die clash error. With magnification you can see the h entire bust from the front on the reverse. The coin has a nice silver color with some natural toning. Not as dark as in the pics. Any ideas as to what it is worth. Thanks
As for value for an Uncirculated Anna, I can't help. Someone with a Krause might be able to assist. The clash is common on the 1/4 Anna coins. I have one that's a 1907:
Mintage is right around 106,000,000 which puts the 1903 in the medium range for rarity...some years were much higher and some were much fewer. As far as book value, in uncirculated it is around $35.00.
Just got a 2010 worlds coin book and it list the coin in unc at $300 as a restrike silver. Is this the right price or am I confused. Thanks
is it actually silver? or silver plated? if it is silver plated its worth junk. look at the brown that can be seen in the pictures. i am not too hopeful but you can take it to NGC
Pics make it look more copper colored than it really is. It has kind of a rainbow tone. Guess I will take it to a coin show sometime and see what the experts think. Just wondering though if it was silver plated weould the details still be so sharp and would the small die cracks off of the chin still show up so plainly. Thanks for the help.
yes they would. although i am hoping against hope that yours is a restrike but the coin shows no evidence of hairlines which makes the possibility weak. either its going to be a super duper find or nothing
Spock1k Just wondering what you mean by hair lines. I think this coin has a lot of hair detail but again I am by no means an expert of world coins. Here are as few more pics maybe they will help. Still hard to get a good pic
