Got this on the bay for a buck over spot shipped. I've been finding good deals on the Canadian dollars still...even under spot at shows. I normally don't like hazy looking toning, but I couldn't pass on this one as its pretty much flawless and prooflike in hand...especially for the price I paid. Thanks for looking!
Well I'm sure they are alot more now, and I know you are asking the OP.... but just a few years back, I would pay $14USD for a full set, any of the common years from 1964-1967, which was just barely over spot, considering each 'set' has 1.1 oz Actual Silver Weight.
petro89: How long ago did you buy this coin set? $21.00 USD including shipping? Wow, that is pretty amazing, around $15.00 USD under current spot value. With silver currently being at $36.37 USD per ounce as I am writing this, but AR has been over $30.00/oz for a little while now...... If you bought that recently you got a great deal, considering those sets have 1.11 ounces of silver in each set.
Sorry for the confusion. I bought the Dollar by itself for $21 shipped, not the entire set. I wish! I got it like 2 weeks ago. The silver value today is around $21.65. I wish I had bought more of these! A local coin shop had them by the dozens for 9 bucks or 2 for 16 a couple years back. Good news is I did get around 10 when they raised them to around 11 or 12.
Oops.... Ohhh! Heh, sorry... confusion indeed. But still, good price on the coin, and I agree, hazy or not, it has great details. The goose one has always been one of my favorite designs of the 1967 series. $9 a few years back eh? for the .800 silver dollar by itself? or the set? either way, good thing you got some while it was low.... I managed to buy several sets, mostly from 1965, but I got one beautiful one from 1967, that I plan to keep... it has the original envelope with the little info card.... the 1965's I bought didnt have that, just the envelope, they were from the 'Coin Of The Month' club or something, I sold them when silver hit $30, not bad since I got them all for $14 per set back when silver was around 12 bucks an oz. Doubled my money..... which I promptly spent on more coins and the circle of life is complete.
