Very nice. Is it a GSA coin? edit - - - Took too long to reply. My question has already been answered.
Niiiiice coin you've got yourself there! Ive got a CC...too bad it aint a GSA. Plan on upgrading to a GSA soon hopefully
It's easy to tell that it is in a GSA case by the small black tabs on the rim of the reverse at 2 & 10 o'clock. Chris
Way to go! If only the obverse looked more like the reverse, it would be a lock for MS65. As it is, with the hits to her face, I'm thinking MS63. It's still a nice one! Chris
Ya I was thinkin the same thing. The dealer had 4 of them. It was between this one and one more. When I saw this reverse I had to have it. Too bad about the hits But its still a nice one and maybe I'll get a better one next time (in 24 years or so lol).
Nothing wrong with that example at all...I would say it's a solid MS63 to MS63+ based on the way CC morgans are graded and the provanance of being in a GSA holder only helps the value and desirability
I would agree with the 63 grade. The 1883's were the second most common coin found in the hoard with just a little less then 63% of the entire mintage of 1,204,000 found in the GSA hoard. Only the 1884 is more common. Still, A heck of a coin.
