1842 O Liberty Seated quarter small date large date?

    Here is a quarter I bought and was wondering if it was the small or large date. It has some nice detail. What do you think? Thanks for any help / advise.

    I don't have anything such as a Redbook with me right now, so I'd probably have to say small date.

    I'm not sure but this looks like the large date type due to the thickness of the 1 and 8.

    Looking at other small date coins it appears they are a little lower belowthe shield than the large date. I think this one amy be a fair amount lower but I am not sure that is what to go by.
