Went to the grocery store today. There is a Bank of America next door. I've got halves coming in on Thursday, so I am "Jonesing" pretty bad. I stopped at the bank and picked up $ 20 worth of nickels and $ 13 worth of pennies. No halves, most of the banks in Chicago don't have them on hand; I have to order them. But - I hit a '43 P nickel. Silver is silver!

I am really starting to dig on nickel roll searching. In the past week, I've gone through $ 120 in Nickels - I've found the '43P, a 1910 V Nick, a 1937 Buffalo, and a 2000 S Jefferson.

I am curious - how often are you nickel searchers out there hitting war nickels?

I'm catching on to nickels as well. I'm averaging one war nickel each box, a buffalo every other box.

Just finished searching through halves for the first time. I was able to get 2 rolls from one bank and 16 from another. In the 2 rolls from the one bank I found 7 40%. In the 16 from the other bank 0 anything haha. They must have been searched before, did get some fillers for my collection. Also 0 S mint marks. Are they hard to come by?

I usually find at least one war nickel in every other box. It seems like there's a pattern with my boxes of nickels; one has at least one war nickel, the next has a buffalo. On numerous occasions though, I've found both war nickels and buffaloes in the same box (my best was four war nickels, (including an XF-AU '43-D and VF-XF '45-D, and 3 buffaloes in one box, including an AG or G '17-S).

I'll tell ya tomorrow night. I'm working from 11-7 tomorrow, the auction starts at 6. It's in my town, but that is unfortunately about 40 minutes from my work. I'm making a beeline there as soon as I get out, though, so hopefully I'll get there in time for the lots I really want. The rest, well, I'm going there before work tomorrow to lay out some absentee bids. I'm kinda broke, but I have my CC and that's got about $5k in room on it to use, so... Yeah. Gonna try to buy some stuff to flip, there's a crapton of silver in this auction.

Is it the one across the street from booths corner?

btw I would like to go to a local coin show or auction around our area one time, and I really wouldn't be any competition seeing how I'm poor, so if any more come up it would be appreciated and cool if you'd let me know...I have not clue where I would look to find out for myself lol

    '82 no P. That's worth good money. 1996-W, that's also worth a decent amount.

    Box of dimes, one '64.
