First off, excuse the horrible picture quality as my camera is being used by a friend so I was limited to my iphone. Starting the slow process of going through the paper and coin collection my father has passed to me. I've only made it through the first of 6 fire-safe boxes that he gave to me, but I thought I'd post up a couple of items I've found so far. He has several Mercs, all circulated though. Is there anything special about a "micro s"? A few of the error coins he has. There is an entire book labeled "errors", most just doubled dies and die cracks, etc. But I thought these were interesting.
iPhone 4. Hopefully I'll have my real camera back within a week. Question for the more experienced, is it ok to leave coins in these cardboard holders, or do they need to be in something better? If so, what?
I was going to say because I have a 3G which has a TERRIBLE camera. Anyway, I would assume that they would be fine in there. I have already seen quite a few rare coins in them.
San Francisco struck 41,920,000 Mercs in 45, no number on how many of those were the micro S mm. Sounds like there's a lot of silver coinage in your fathers collection.
No, no, he is still alive and kicking! He simply decided it was time to pass his collection down to me. We've been going through everything and he has been telling me stories of when and how he acquired the items.
